This project was to explore a whole new photo genre and to gain more experience
"Meatballs"
I wanted to do food photography because it is a lot more difficult than people think it is. It is similar to still life because you generally want a simple and non-distracting background, but it is a lot more difficult because of how food acts.
For the picture "Meatballs" I prepared the meatballs on a white plate with a black background. I placed a leaf of lettuce on the plate to add more interest and help contrast the meatballs, without taking the focal point away. I like the glistening of the meatballs from the sauce that I put on right before I took the picture. |
"dinner"
"Dinner" was a bit more tricky to take because after I plated the food I realized I did not want it plated that way, but it was too late. Even though I made the mistake of platting, I did my best to get an appealing picture of the food. I like that the texture in the chicken is clearly visible in the photo and since it is closer to the front of the photo it come the focal point of the picture.

"apple"
"Apple" was by far the easiest photo to take. I did not have to worry about the apple looking gross under the light after a few shots and I could do many different pictures using the same apples. I like this photo because of how simple it is. there is just a plain white background with green apples, which even though it is simple, I still think it is effective for this photo. I intentionally had the apple stems going in opposite directions in the photo so there would be more interest to the photo.
